Ukraine Postpones Crypto Market Legalization Draft Law to September
Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada has delayed consideration of a pivotal draft law aimed at legalizing the cryptocurrency market, with discussions now slated for 2 September. Danylo Hetmantsev, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy, confirmed the postponement, citing political priorities overshadowing economic reforms.
The legislation, aligned with the EU's MiCA framework, proposes a 10% tax on digital asset transactions and seeks to establish transparent regulatory guidelines. "Civilized rules of the game are non-negotiable for market growth," Hetmantsev emphasized during the Incrypted Conference 2025, projecting billions in hryvnia revenues for the state budget.
